We love coconut water in our house, it's perfect for fighting off the flu (or in our case fighting it in general) and is chalked full of electrolytes. So when Amy & Brian's sent over some Coconut Juice to try I knew I wanted to do something a little different, thus stumbling upon this recipe. It's the perfect alternative to traditional hot chocolate (one of my weaknesses, you know this) and can even be made in a vegan friendly form! Now, it's not as rich as our typical indulgence but it does the trick on a cold day and I don't feel as guilty sipping it down...
Try it, and let me know what you think!
Coconut Water Hot Chocolate
Here's What You Need ( for 2.5 Servings)
1 - 17.5oz Can Of Amy & Brian Coconut Juice - Found just about everywhere!
3-4 Tbsp. Honey (or 2-3 Tbsp. Sugar or for vegan, 2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup )
2 Tbsp. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Combine the ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir until thoroughly combined and heated.
And Enjoy!
I'm going to have to give this a try one day.
Definitely interesting! I wonder how it'll work out with coconut water straight from the coconut. It's worth a try!
xo
Eesh
Oh, I'm sure it will! It might be better ;)
Yum! If it ever gets cold here in California this winter we will give it a try! ;)
This is such a great idea. I love drinking the chocolate zico, but never thought of doing this!!
