I own my fair share of lace up pieces, mostly in neutral colors like black and cognac (aka tan). They're easy colors to wear and with fall on the horizon I'll more than likely start wearing these go-with-everything hues on a regular basis. But, after seeing this
Tobi lace up maxi in plum (also in black!) I realized I needed to add a little color to the rotation. Wear it now, alone with sandals to take advantage of the last days of summer under the sun; or later, layered with a grey turtleneck underneath for some texture and coverage. I chose to keep it somewhat in the middle with a moto topper opened just enough to see the lace up details without showing too much skin for a night out. The addition of sandals keeps it summery, but I have a feeling this dress is going to be just as amazing with suede boots peeking out come autumn.
