If you're not really a short fan, Cropped Pants and Capris are perfect for those hot and humid summer days, they're easy to pair with and can be worn with heels and flats, depending on the look you're trying to achieve. I would recommend a light fabric that is breathable such as linen and twill. For the first look from Old Navy, I paired olive green cropped cargo pants with a coral crochet trimmed tank. Olive green and cargo styles are spot on for summer 2010 trends, and even better when paired with a colorful scoop neck tank. Scoop neck is great when you don't want to be too revealing and the crochet detailing that takes this plain tank to the next level. I finished the look with beaded earrings, gold bangles and a simple brown wedge. If you're not in favor of heels try an embellished sandal.

Another great alternative is mid length and Bermuda shorts, they are flattering and still show some leg. I picked this chambray boyfriend cut off and paired it with a belted (tucked in) linen utility shirt. Added subtle glass jewelry and a floral t-strap sandal to complete the look. Simple, yet chic.

I picked this cotton smocked waist dress from Target because it hits right above the knee, it's light, and has a great print that can be worn alone or topped with a cardigan. Dresses can always be dressed up or down with heels, flats and/or sandals. I chose two pairs of black sandals one with a heel and one flat, threw on a black belt (at the waist) and a textured layered necklace.
