In Need of Coverage

Hello Megan! I'm in need of your fashion advice! I'm all about the summer dresses but at night it chills down and i'm stick with goosbumps. Not so cute. So i need some ideas on summer jacket/cardis that i can wear over a cute 'go out' dress. Thanks for your help! :)

I love jackets and cardigans for summer, I've been especially fond of denim jackets (here) and my green safari jacket (here and here). Other great options include colorful knit cardis, striped blazers, and more for under $50

If you're looking for a jean jacket I recommend a cropped denim jacket which looks great with dresses and separates, like this one from Forever21 for $24.90

Stripes are huge this season, a striped open front cardigan like this from J. Crew for $42.50 can be worn open or belted at the waist over a chic dress. (Also available in Ivory)

Utility Blazers are comfy, chic and versatile like this one from Nordstrom's for $39.99. I love them in olive green but they also come in an array of colors... Plus they'll be just as useful and stylish during the cool fall months.

I love this petal cardigan from J.Crew for $39.99, It's feminine and would be great paired with anything from jeans, shorts and dresses. This Ruffle Trim Cardigan from Old Navy for $25-29.50 works great too.

And of course The Boyfriend Blazer is still going strong, perfect for those cool nights when you need a little tailored cover up. Try this one from Kohl's for $35.99, not feeling black how about white? It's been seen on the red carpet quite a bit this summer.

Don't be afraid to try something new, and pair bold colors with strong prints or florals. A great place to get plain cardigans on the cheap is Old Navy (like these for $10.47 - 12.97 in a number of colors), Target and Forever21. :)
