As many of you all know Jason Wu's collaboration dropped today, and consisted of graphic tees, light airy dresses, florals and bold prints. And like most Target collaboration collections, it also consisted of polyester and a some cotton, which is nice for a change. And don't get me wrong polyester has come along way since it's disco days but it's just too predictable, however the lovely prints and shapes more than made up for it, it's something new with a touch of Wu ;).
What did you think of the Jason Wu Collection? Did you get anything?
The cute dresses I wanted my Target didn't have! I'm disappointed!
I'm in the DC Area. The Rockville and Gaithersburg store had all of the line (other stores had only partial). Those two also tend to be craziest during launch. There was a line of 40 at the opening bell. Everyone was VERY courteous and positive, but of course this meant inventory went fast. Coveted items sold out as soon as the line hit the aisles. If you wanted accessories AND clothing, you were out of luck unless you brought along a friend to split up the sprint since both were in opposite locations in the store.
Lots of polyester, lots of unlined, and odd sizing. Trench coat was the worst oversize offender, petites are sized out. That said, I love the design, I just wish it wasn't such a deja vu of the Missoni experience with low inventory and shoddy website performance. I stayed up till 2am wrestling with the website, then went to the store at 7:30am. Still did not leave with my size 2 navy poplin dress. :(
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Above average for Target, I'd say. And I thought the handbags were better than Target quality too.
Of course, it could be the Wu-haze, but it's also the first time I was jacked for a collaboration. Missoni just isn't me....
By the time I got to my local Target (right after church), pretty much all the good pieces were gone. I grabbed a black pleated skirt, but it totally did not flatter my figure...maybe for someone with smaller hips? :(
I was just in Target and I didn't even notice the launch! Oh well, I'll have to go back...thanks for the preview!!

They didn't have what I wanted but then I went at 2:30pm! What did you get>?

All I really wanted was the cat scarf (because it reminds me of my cat).... I went to two different Target stores (late in the day, mind you) and couldn't find it or even a trace that accessories had been put out. Ah well. I'm not broken up over it.
Like you said, it's always a bunch of polyester. I'm not into spending $60 on polyester.
I ordered a skirt and bag online at 3am. Hoping the quality is up to my expectations!
Forgot to put my alarm - missed it all :(
I'm going now to check it out, hopefully theres something left!!
There were definitely a few dresses I wanted! But I held back. No need to have the same disappointment that I experienced with Missoni! I'm still traumatized! lol

I didn't go to my local Target (had to work) and I'm sure it's much too late now! :(

I got there at 8:05am and everything I wanted was GONE! Bags too -_-
I didn't go at opening (to avoid any potential chaos), so racks were pretty picked over when I got there around noon. I was still able to try on a decent assortment of things. Online, I ordered the cat tee and cat scarf. In store, I got the belted navy floral chiffon dress and another cat tee in case there was an issue with my order. Happy!
I was there late, but picked up that red and blue striped top... haven't tried it on yet, but I love the feel of it and was surprised it was only $19.99! Orangies Attic
I wish I were still in the US and I'd have snagged some! I love Target and used to shop there some years ago!
I guess it's a trend now for major designers to go for second of even third lines. Vera Wang with Kohls. Last time Missoni paired with Target also? Versace for H&M. Delish!

I went to my local Target to try to find some things. I definitely liked the prints but the sizing was really off. So I left empty handed.
There is no doubt the collection is adorable. There were some pieces I was close to buying, but I couldn't justify the price tag for the quality. I can get a designer piece at TJ Maxx or Marshall's for the same price and better quality. I did walk away with one of the cute straw clutches.
nothing really caught my eye in store...well, the pieces that were left. sizing was bizarre! kinda happy that i got the bag though, i love black/white!
Yes, I loved the cat prints! I shopped both online and in-store early, and did fairly well. My favorite dress was the dot print one in cream. It has such lovely details. I wrote a review and summary/haul for my blog. Excited to receive my online orders this week :)
I was first in line at my Target! LOL! I was able to snag the black pleated skirt, pink dress with black tie and the navy poplin that has red and pink stripes across the bottom. Everything went fast!! There were tow things that I wanted that weren't in the store and of course they are long gone online now.

All the stores in my area (all 4) still had at least one of every piece in every size. I guess it just wasn't very popular here. I really like the idea of these collaborations, but I didn't think this collection was very flattering for alot of women. Alot of horizontal stripes and difficult to wear silhouettes. I do like the shirt with the lace strip, though.
Megan, thanks for coming by my blog (Very Busy Mama) I LOVE your look and even more so that you are on a budget like me! I don't do crowds and because I don't have much $$ these days there was no way I was going to Target. I forgot about it and during the SuperBowl I went birthday shopping for my husband and saw the Wu aftermath. Not much left but I got a cute top. Will post it Wednesday :)
I went to the store and didn't get the tops/dresses that I really wanted, but I was able to get a few things. Check out my blog post tomorrow on my Jason Wu story. :)
Has anyone seen the YouTube video of the 2 people n Midtown Miami who (according to the person who posted the video) bought out the whole Jason Wu collection? WOW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LADVFPWQOng
I saw that video the other day, it's disgusting behavior, people need to boycott the sales on ebay, or those people should have just taken stuff out of their cart, and been like thanks.
I wasn't a fan and didn't check it out. Maybe if I was in a more corporate or dressy work environment I may have...
