I've mentioned on more than one occasion that the Fall to Winter season is by far my favorite, when August hits every year I can't wait to purge my closet of summer essentials and revamp my wardrobe with heavy knits, tights and hats. I love the chill in the air paired with the necessary layering of blazers, sweaters and coats. And since so much inspiration comes to mind over these few months, it only seemed fitting to team up with Yoplait to share my favorite trends for Fall and Winter 2012. What inspires your Style this season?
Whether you're a lover of the real deal or preferring a more 'vegan' alternative, Leather is one of those must haves for your fall wardrobe. Playing with styles and colors, makes this texture so much fun for the season, whether you're opting for a fitted pencil or a hip skater style, skirts are one of the easiest ways to pull of the leather look without grabbing your traditional leather jacket. Not a lover of skirts, try finding your fit in pants or even shorts paired with tights. If you're really feeling bold, style it in with other trends like opting for a leather peplum top, or even a deep oxblood hued shift
Bringing back the exaggerated and dramatic lines, prints, textures from the 1600's artistic period is a natural fit for Fall and Winter's trendsetting, whether you're incorporating rich gold hues or mirrored prints in the form of tops, bags and dressed, you're bound to be spot on and statement making. Reach brocade embroidered jackets and shorts and pair them with deep colors like oxblood & black. Not loving the clothing? Take a stab at the trend with accessories like a clutch or statement earrings mirroring the dramatic period that housed some of the greatest creatives.
Think mod geometric prints on cigarette pants paired with exaggerated takes on houndstooth, leopard or even tribal. Go for eye popping colors, and already print mixed styles, when it comes to this season's print party, more is more. Still shy? Play with our ever favorite print leopard and style it with classic black and white or step outside the box and try it with a flashy blazer.
Who needs sequins when you have it's flashier sister, Metallics? Jump in head first on the midas and friends inspired trend with coated denim, eye catching separates like disco inspired minis or even metal infused tweeds like fitted blazers and shifts. Scared to go head to toe? Try testing the waters with a touch of metal in cap toe pumps, clutches, or satchels. Go glam in your beauty routine by adding metallic shimmer to your eyes and nails. Don't forget to have fun with this one...
What trend inspired your taste and style?
