Ever since I tasted my grandfather's oven roasted vegetables years ago I've had a fascination with charring the crap out of my vegetables. While I'm sure it's not the healthiest thing, I love the crispy texture that comes along with the 'roasted' infused flavors. I swear by this for just about anything, and it has actually become a staple in our house, so much so when we have company they request such features. Now, awhile back while visiting my grandparents they opted to go for Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts, and OH MY GOD were they amazing. Let me be clear, I am not a brussel sprout fanatic and can really only eat them a few ways, this being the main, er really only...
Turns out it's just as easy as this recipe, and is perfect for that time crunch we often hit during the week, plus kids love it.
Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts - Serves 6
1 lb. Fresh Brussel Sprouts, Halved
1 Tbsp. Garlic Powder
3-4 Tbsp. Olive Oil
Black Pepper and Salt To Taste
Combine the ingredients, and toss in a medium/large bowl.
Line them on a cookie sheet and broil for 8-10 minutes or until crisp.
Dust with parmesan cheese and enjoy.
