Ah Winter, sure the cold blesses you with perfectly flushed cheeks and practically frizz free hair but it also goes hand in hand with some not so lovely side effects. Dry skin, dry hair and chapped lips are some of the not so glorious conditions we all get to experience during this time of the year. Glamourous, I know. However, help isn't so far away, there's soothing lip balms, exfoliants and deep conditioning to keep you and your skin sailing smooth throughout the extreme winter conditions.
Here's 5 of my Winter Essentials Under $50...
Since I'm a sulfate free kind of gal I have trouble finding a good shampoo that gives me a good clean and lather. I stumbled upon this shampoo and conditioner combo in travel size form last month while looking for a quick suitcase filler. I'm officially hooked, it's heavier and grabs ahold to your whole head thus leaving you without having to use the whole bottle in one sitting. Plus it's perfectly hydrating for the winter here..
I'll admit it, I wasn't a primer girl for a longest time, I even scoffed at the idea of using a primer. Now, I want to slap myself for being so insubordinate to it's miraculous ways. My newest favorite, Smashbox's Photo Finish, it's been especially amazing when I have 'dry skin' days. My makeup slides on smooth and stays looking good for longer.
Paired with my Clarisonic this scrub is a god, it's gentle enough to be used every night and leaves my skin feeling amazing. Bye Bye flaking with this pairing.
Tinted, hydrating lip balm with natural ingredients? Yes please, It stays put for a good while and has a pretty, sheer red tint for those lipstick free days.
This masque, has the same effect of my Neutrogena Scrub & Clarisonic pairing, so if you're looking for something a little more low tech this is a perfect solution. I use it a couple times a week, and love it.
What do you use to keep your skin happy in the winter?
