Holiday celebrations are in full swing, leading to endless nights of fun on the town. Who can resist sparkling lights and festive cocktails with a little holiday glamour? Which is why, for my first Target Beauty post this month, I’m creating two holiday-party looks: one that breaks all the "beauty rules" and is likely to end up on the naughty list, and one that keeps things classic and more meet-the-parents ready.
For my first look, I played it safe and kept things classic, but added just a little bit of drama to my eyes. C’mon, it’s the holidays, you have to.
After a quick application of foundation and concealer, I sculpted out a little contouring on my cheekbones and hair lines with Pixi’s Ultimate Contour Kit. I added a touch of cream blush and went straight to the eyes.
I started with the lightest color on the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette, Rich Gold, and created a canvas to pop against the other shades.
Next, I used the third shade down and applied it to the crease and blended. For a little more depth, I opted for additional shading in the crease with the fourth color. I added on a cat eye with Sonia Kashuk Liquid Liner and a healthy coat of Pixi Large Lash Mascara.
For the “naughtier,” rule-breaking look, I opted for a dramatic eye and lip paired with a loose, side-swept updo.
I decided to build up from my first look by adding the last color from the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette, Rich Gold, to the creases for a deeper, more dramatic look.
Then, I went a little heavier on the liner and added a swipe of the fourth color in the palette to my lower lash line. To finish, I added a little glitter from Wet ’n’ Wild’s Color Icon in Brass and another coat of Pixi Large Lash Mascara.
I finalized the look by combining Pixi’s Matte Lustre Lipstick in Petal Pink and Classic Red for a deeper, bright red/pink.
I pulled my hair off to the side and pinned it, and voila!—a look that was made for breaking all the rules.
P.S. Target has free shipping this month! Hello, endless holiday packages.
