When it comes to my essentials for Spring, I always look for something with a decent amount of color, prints, and/or texture. After all, this is the season you want your look to pop after those insanely difficult cold and dark winter months, right? I am glad we agree. So you can understand why I was pretty excited when Banana Republic sent over this Seersucker Layered Dress. I don't know how they knew it but I kind of have a tiny little obsession with all things seersucker - the fact that I have a short suit from 10+ years ago that I will probably have for another ten, should sufficiently communicate my love for the airy, textured stripes.
But back to the subject at hand, this dress is easily a spring and summer staple, thanks to its light texture and neutral pair-with-anything stripe. I love that they can be spiced up with pops of color and even with a little print-mixing, such as the addition of a floral print for example. I personally will opt to toughen my dress up with a touch of leather and a fabulous heel since I'm still transitioning my fall/winter style to spring. I'm half way there- I'm in sandals. But I foresee throwing this on with a denim jacket and bright heels when things start looking {and feeling} more like spring.
Until then I'll throw it on with my trusty leather jacket, black crossbody and strappy sandals for a quick lunch meeting in the city, followed up with a healthy shopping jaunt {but not without first switching out my heels for white converse. Which, by the way, pair just as effortlessly with the look as the heels.}
