Fall has finally arrived and with the new season’s arrival has brought plenty of footwear options to choose from. So of course, reaching for boots seems like the natural choice, and with all of the different shapes and styles on display, in most cases it is. But this season as I team up with Zappos and Clarks, I’m stepping a little bit out of my typical fall footwear comfort zone and trying something new: menswear inspired pieces, the Griffin Mabel Oxford, courtesy of Clarks in particular. I think it’s obvious I’m really not a flats person, and at first glance I was concerned that I would struggle styling the ‘borrowed from the boys’ style.
But, all worries were instantly remedied when I slipped them on. Seeing their reflection in the mirror, I realized that I found my new fall footwear staple. I love the kiltie detail, and the lace up closure and CushionSoft layers that help absorb impact and provide comfort are major plusses. Just in case you’re new to Clarks footwear, their shoes & boots are always absurdly comfortable, and make for blister and discomfort-free days of making the rounds throughout the city.
As for styling, it turns out they are much easier to wear than I initially thought. I definitely have big plans for these little black oxfords this season. Wear them bare legged with a little ‘retro’ dress to channel Alexa Chung or throw them on with cropped denim, textured tights, and even over-the-knee socks. Go cozy with oversized sweaters, or casual with a touch of edge in just a t-shirt and black moto topper. The pairings are endless and if you’re not careful the Griffin Mabel will easily take the place of your favorite ballet flats and sneakers.
All this plus Zappos.com amazing customer service & return policy (fast, free and 365-day return policy) and you absolutely cannot go wrong.
