Boots! I've been talking an awful lot about boots this season and with good reason: They're an essential, duh. I've found my self continuously stepping out of my usual comfort zone and trying new styles that I thought I would never add to my closet. Styles I fell in love with and would now consider them staples for any wardrobe, including mine. This week as I team up with Rockport and Zappos to share my newest footwear must-have AND I get to include an added bonus, David. Yep, he's back for another round of his and hers style and I can't help but think he looks killer in his Rockport Dressports Luxe Waterproof Chukka. First off, lets talk about the comfort level on these shoes, it's unbelievable. I slid my foot into a cushy bed of comfort that lasted the entire wear. Walking on pillows? Basically. It took me a minute to adjust to how comfortable they were. David is no newbie to Rockport shoes (he wears them all the time) but was all about the construction and luxe Hydro-Shield® waterproof leather on this chukka, wear it with jeans or dress it up with a suit. They're as versatile as hitting the park or the boardroom. (Note: the boots runs a little snug, so size up.) He kept it casual in light layers, a chambray shirt and black denim for our usual weekend outing but truth be told he's been wearing them non stop since he got them over an week ago, I think they've become his shoe of choice. I don't blame him, the padded heel, weather proof leather and sleek shape would have me ditching my sneakers in favor of them in an instant.
For my pick, I went with a newer silhouette than my usual staples, the Rockport Cobb Hill Bethany Boot. I almost always steer clear from mid-calf flat booties because of my petite build but these are actually pretty flattering, that and they are absurdly comfortable. My sneakers don't even hold a candle to the EVA foam cushioned footbed on these. The leather is super soft and the back zipper makes for an easy on and off. Also, the Bethany comes in 6 colors so if you have WAY too much black in your closet there's the option of red, green, teal, stone, or grey. One of each maybe? They're amazing to say the least, which is probably why they have 225 five star reviews on Zappos.com.
I ended up dressing them up with a navy pinafore dress, black turtleneck and with visible socks for texture. These are easily going to become my go-to when I'm in rush to get out the door and need something comfortable (and stylish).
