As much as I hate cleaning, I love the results. When we have a clean apartment it's like night and day. Then sprinkle in some fresh flowers and we're really on roll.
Good vibes all.day.long.
Since we've enlisted the boys to help us with the day to day chores, we've been even more sensitive about what we're cleaning with.
I definitely don't want them using products with harsh chemicals so natural is always better. But shopping for it hasn't always been the easiest- even in NYC. It took going to several different stores before I finally found my 'everyday cleanser' or the more natural toilet bowl cleaner. The amount of time and effort looking for the product outweighed the time spent using it. Ugh. But that unnecessary stress recently came to an end thanks to iHerb! All of our favorite natural products, from supplements and food to household items and cleaning supplies are under one roof and shipped straight to my door for free* (on orders over $20, in the US).

Now that we talked a bit about iHerb, let's get to my cleaning supplies and why these are my must-haves when it comes to getting things done around the house...
10 Of My Favorite Natural Cleaning Supplies and What I Use Them For
-The Bathroom-
I'll admit, my bathroom is my least favorite space in the house. It's the least updated of the entire apartment and tends to get build up a lot quicker than our other spots. I'm a big fan of all things Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day but their Tile And Tub Cleaner, Toilet Cleanser and Multi-Surface Everyday Cleanser make tackling the bathroom a breeze. Plus they're cruelty-free, sans chemicals, and made with essential oils! I'm partial to the Lemon Verbana and Honeysuckle scents. But they have quite a few to choose from, so there's something for everyone's personal preference.
- The Kitchen, Multi-Surfaces + Dishes -
We have a resident 9-year old dishwasher that tackles dishes daily like a champ, so I made sure we were using products that were safe for the environment, his little hands and the dishes. I admit we go back and forth between a few cleansers like castile soap and Rebel Green Super Deluxe Dish Soap. I'm also slightly obsessed with their packaging against my backsplash...
Also, for dishes, we're loving Full Circle Bubble Up Dish Brush and Squeeze Cellulose Cleaning Cloths. Both are earth-friendly, safe to use and non-toxic.
With the nonstop craziness of three boys, I feel like I'm constantly wiping down surfaces, mirrors (basically everything) to keep things looking semi-clean. I've been obsessed with Aunt Fannie's Cleaning Vinegars for counters, high chairs, tables, chairs and basically anything a tiny little hand runs across. It's mostly vinegar with essential oils so I can rest easy that I'm not spraying around anything toxic. As for mirrors and windows, Attitude Window and Mirror does the trick for tiny smudges, dust and residue.
When I'm in a rush, J.R.Watkins All Purpose Wipes have my back for any and all messes. I just pull out a wipe and go...(they're biodegradable too!)
Because we buy a ton of fruits and vegetables from our local produce market I'm constantly looking for ways to reduce my carbon footprint and these ECOBAGS Market Collection Bags are the perfect way to do so. The bags are tres chic and also fit into my purse when I'm not toting fruits and veggies home. After getting home I give them a good spray with my Eat Cleaner Triple Action Fruit and Vegetable Wash.
- Laundry -
Laundry is serious in our house. We don't always do it when needed which means I rely on spot cleaning like it's nobodys business. I am OBSESSED with Naturally It's Clean, Laundry Pre-Treat for any and all stains (mostly Indy, because, toddler life). It's made out of plant enzymes and breaks down oils, grease, odors and stains. Next, It's Indigo Wild's Zum Clean Aromatherapy Laundry Soap in Sweet Orange. It's free of synthetic chemicals, handmade with pure essential oils and cleans 32 loads per bottle. I can use it for the family, and it's great against my sensitive skin.
