When it comes to makeup routines, the quicker the better. I'll take minimal over fully-done anytime, especially when I'm on-the-go or traveling. I want to roll out of bed, throw on a few essentials and be on my way. I'm definitely a brow/tinted moisturizer/lip kind of girl. Of course, a little color from blush and mascara to open up my sleepy eyes never hurt the situation.
That being said, you might already know that I tend to opt for beauty products with cleaner ingredients. My insanely sensitive skin doesn't do well with a lot of additives- especially parabens think: painful, deep cystic breakouts). So, the cleaner the ingredients, the happier my skin, the happier the me.
Over the last few years I've been hearing some amazing things about Beautycounter, with keywords like "cleaner beauty" and "high quality" being tossed around. Of course, that piqued my interest. I'm always on the hunt for new staples to add to my beauty routine and make-up bag. One of my favorite things about Beautycounter is that they prohibit the use of over 1500 harmful or questionable ingredients and don't compromise on performance. They also advocate for more health-protective laws for the personal care industry, which is something that I personally feel strongly about.
So it was a no-brainer when the opportunity came up to partner. I couldn't wait to get my hands on some of their products. I felt like a kid on Christmas when they arrived within a week: love at first swatch. I will admit that I struggled a little with the mascara because I have super-fine eyelash hair; but, using a silicone wand remedied the situation and it's been smooth sailing since.
Now, Because I'm constantly moving, I want to be able to get up in the morning, pull my hair into a bun and put on a fresh face in under 10 minutes. I know, I know - the impossible, right? Wrong. With the Flawless in Five set I was able to do just that with 6 essentials to create a fresh face and be out the door in under 10 minutes. That way I can spend more time exploring the unknown than putting on makeup. Added perk, it makes my suitcase a lot lighter when I'm packing only 6 cosmetics opposed to 30 (yes, I've been there - I counted 11 foundations in my makeup bag from my previous trip. So it was a relief to pack light for our trip to The Florida Keys).
Let's Talk About My Flawless in Five Picks and How I Made Them Work For Me.
I started with a clean face and applied SPF. With a sponge, I applied the Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation until fully blended. I used a little less than a dime size and it had pretty amazing coverage.
Because this girl hasn't had a full night sleep since before her 10 year old was born, I rely on concealer to help brighten things up. A triangle from inner eye to the outer and then to the cheekbone does the trick.
A brow has the ability to make or break a look and I'm here for a full brown. A few quick lines to fill and shape makes a huge difference. I'm a whole new woman.
Gimme some volume! I mentioned I have super fine eyelash hairs, so I'll take all the help I can get to make my eyes appear more open and bright.
Fair skin girls unite! This is the hue that you need in your makeup bag. I'm all for coral-blush hues and this one is my new favorite. Just the right amount of color without looking overdone.
Finish with a coral-blush hued gloss for a "nature's kiss" vibe. I can walk out the door and feel like I'm an elevated version of I woke up like this without having to put on a bold lip.
