While I err on the side of pancakes, french toast is a staple in this house. Aside from being insanely easy to make - you only need bread, egg, milk and butter (or oil). Usually I'll bake it, but after finding a loaf of monkey bread it would have been a crime to cube it and toss it into a dish to bake it. So I gave it some thick slices, doused it in the milk and egg mixture and cooked it to perfection. And perfection it was. You better believe I'm never using regular bread again....
What You Need:
Loaf of Monkey Bread or Cinnamon Raisin Bread
1 1/2 Cups Milk
1 Tbsp. Vanilla
3 Eggs
Combine eggs, milk and vanilla in bowl.
Heat pan to medium high heat (I love T-fal pans because of the thermo-spot indicator to let me know when it's fully heated and ready to go).
I personally love a pat of butter to grease the pan, but use your favorite.
Dip toast and add to pan. Cook each side for around a minute or golden brown. Flip, repeat and remove.
Maple Cream Cheese:
1 8oz. Pkg cream cheese, softened.
1 Tsp. Vanilla
2-3 Tbsp Maple Syrup
Cream the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer on medium/high.
Add maple syrup and vanilla and whip until smooth on medium to high. Set aside.
