Well, I finally did it!
After about a year of wanting to ditch my Ikea Mongstad floor length mirror in favor of something new I opted to give it a whole new life and the transformation it deserved.
Initially my plan was to cover it's dated white exterior with a fun and quirky wallpaper to liven up my boring entryway but as time went on I kept leaning towards texture and drama. Fringe kept popping in my head from time to time but I was honestly too chicken to take the plunge.
I love fringe chandeliers and furniture right now but I wasn't sure I'd be able to execute it properly for the mirror. Finally, I threw caution to the wind and ordered 20 yards of pink 6" chainette fringe and got to work. There was definitely a bit of trial and error at first - I learned I needed to start from the bottom as opposed to the top but after I got in the groove of measuring, cutting and glueing it seemed as if it was meant to be.
I cannot properly tell you how in love with it I truly am. It's glam, fun and one-of-a-kind. Plus I was able to shop my house and only spent $33 on fringe to complete the project which is a whole lot less than buying a new mirror.
